Capacity & Knowing Your Limits

Do you ever feel like you're at capacity?

Definition of capacity: the ability to receive, hold, or absorb something; the maximum amount that can be contained or produced.

How do you know when you reach capacity?

What happens in your body?

For me, I can feel...

- tightness and bloating in my belly,

- fatigue,

- my body and mind begin to shut down,

- lackluster,

- lethargic,

- a desire to isolate.

These are all messengers from my mind, body, and heart... and as strange as it sounds, I've learned to be grateful for them.

This wasn't always the case.

I used to be frustrated by it and would push through.

I didn't give myself permission to slow down, rest, say no.

I'd try to feel invincible and ignore it until I would crash.

Maybe you can relate?

Next time you feel at capacity, what if nothing has gone wrong? What if this is your body's brilliance to remind you that you are human and your brain and body are reaching their limit. And she needs a recharge.

But please be gentle with yourself.

There's no need to keep pushing through.

If this feeling of capacity has a message for you, what is it saying?

What does it want you to pay attention to?

What is one thing you can do to care for yourself today to honor and respect your capacity?

Honor the message from your mind, body and heart.
