Nature is the Best Prescription

I remember thinking in the dead of winter... I can't wait until I see springtime.

And now...

It's here!

Trees budding

Flowers blooming.

Tulips lining the streets.

Grey and brown turning vibrant green.

Things coming to life.

It's here and also...

...the list is long

...the schedule busy.

...the kids need carting around.

...the work is at a desk, inside staring at a computer.

...mind's full of to-do's, organizing the week

... always one more thing to wash, clean, pick up, and sort.

And I could miss it.

I could miss this very short window of springtime beauty.

The beauty of our world tends to get overlooked when we're so distracted.

But I believe it's inviting us to look and see and enjoy... especially when everything around is tugging for our time and attention.

Nature, specifically, is therapy for the soul.

God's medicine.

It's singing all the time, whether we take notice or not.

And we are invited to be a part of the beautiful melody.

So get in it.

Take a soul-stroll.

Sit in your backyard with your face to the sun.

Take a walk in the woods with a loved one.

Put your bare feet in the grass.

Listen to the sounds of spring.

Watch the birds build their nests.

Look at the blooming trees because they will only be around for a short period of time.

Whatever it is, be present to nature around you.

Take it in.

Receive its gifts.

Get out of your head for a bit and get out into nature.

No doubt, it's nourishment for your body, mind, and soul.

That’s my weekend wish for you :)
