Navigating Challenging Times

What in the world?

Have you asked this question in recent weeks?

Literally...what in the world is going on?

We're seeing one catastrophe after another.

Personally for me, the past couple of weeks have felt reminiscent of 2020 with so many uncertainties and global catastrophes swirling.

I felt very ungrounded.

I could feel my stress level rising.

My mind kept going into worst case scenarios.

Lots of fear and worry...

Lots of scrolling on my phone, trying to make sense of things...

Playing out future events 6 months to 6 years down the road...

I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about what's going on recently.

These thoughts and the circumstances at large can pull and tug me out of alignment... and distract me out of a grounded peaceful space.

And if you find you're feeling this way lately too, I want to remind you...

There is no better time to establish lifestyle foundations that nourish and sustain the wellbeing of your mind, body, and heart.

If you're feeling emotionally and mentally worn out...

If you're feeling like life is tossing you around...

If you're getting distracted by the headlines...

If you're letting stress and overwhelm override...

>> You must build a solid foundation of practices that allow you to withstand - and not be swayed by - the world's chaos.

These are practices you return to again and again to protect, nourish, and support your mind, body, and heart.

While we all value different foundational practices, and I encourage you to figure out what yours are...

Here are mine:

>> Sleep
>> Rest
>> Downtime
>> Sabbath (one day/week off of devices)
>> Laughter and finding lightness and beauty
>> Meaningful connection with my family and friends
>> Filtered water
>> Real Food
>> Weekly Meal Planning
>> Movement
>> Prayer and Scripture
>> A warm mug of tea
>> Supplements to support my immune system and health
>> A hot shower at the end of a long day

The truth is, the chaos in the world is not going to stop swirling.

Without establishing proper boundaries, things are just going to get louder and heighten stress and overwhelm for you if you do not practice nourishing foundations to help regulate your nervous system... to protect your mind, body, and heart.

So take some time to assess how you're affected by the outside world.

And consider what must happen to protect your inside world... and the steps needed to build resilience and peace in mind, body, and heart.

You may not be able to affect the many things happening in the world, but you can take steps to take good care of you.
